1. If Satanists do not "worship Satan" then why are you called "Satanists"?

We are called "Satanists" because that is the only term in general language that fits all of the social-philosophies that make up Satanism, among these social-philosophies of Satanism include, but are not limited to: Humanism, Hedonism, Realism, Naturism, etc. Each of these social-philosophies, and the others that make up Satanism, are all in opposition to the religious hypocrisy (and, yes, that includes atheism, agnosticism, and deism) that has ravaged and all-but-destroyed the real world. Due to that fact, the Hebrew term "SATAN" (meaning Opposer, Accuser, and Adversary) is the only word that truly fits.

2. How come people say that Satanists worship the devil?

To put it simply, people are ignorant. People believe what Judeo-Christians tell them and Judeo-Christians make things up as they go, hence all the different denominations and each saying the other is wrong and "going to hell".

Atheists are either Judeo-Christians who simply do not see a point in believing in a deity (hypocrites), or are Satanists who fear the name because of their overwhelming Judeo-Christian influences (cowards). In short, Satanism is the religion everyone would be in if their was no religion. John Lennon knew this, hence his song "IMAGINE" because he saw the logic and truth in Satanism. Lennon, like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Ben Franklin (among others) kept their Satanic beliefs secret, yet they did leave some clues that only other Satanists can recognize...

3. I understand that Satanists generally worship themselves, but do Satanists believe in a "higher power" of any kind?

The simple answer that you would likely get from most Satanists is "Of course not, we are the highest power and there can be nothing higher!". However, what is often not realized even by some Satanists is the fact that there is something that can be considered a "higher power". Realistic research of Satanism will bring you to a statement, an Enochian statement in fact, that is probably better known as the "Ninth Enochian Key", in the description of which one will read a caution against using anything addictive and includes the statement "...which might lead to the delusion and subsequent enslavement of the master." The "master" referred to here is human intellect. To an addict, human intellect is skewed to nothing more then the artificially induced need of getting that next fix of whatever one happens to be addicted to. To a Satanist, however, human intellect is the "higher power" that is in general worship. Satanists are compelled to strengthen and increase the human intellect by questioning, and subsequently researching, all things. By doing this, the Satanist is, in effect, worshipping his/her own intellect as the "higher power". Therefore, it is only logical to say that Satanists DO worship a "higher power", just not one that can be considered "conventional" by most people.

4. Why would anyone chose to be a Satanist in the first place?

The simplest answer is, they don't. Satanism is not just a religion, Satanism in fact has something in common with Judaism. Both Satanism and Judaism are not only religions, they are both also races. Satanic scholar, and author, Tani Jantsang refers to two original races that have been referenced at least as far back as the "Book of Genesis", of the Judo-Christian Bibles. One of those races is known as the "Adamites", or those who are descended from Adam, and the more obscure and previously misunderstood references to the "Serpentine Race".

In the Judo-Christian Bibles there seems to only be reference to one of the "Serpentine Race", referred to as "the serpent who tempted Eve" (some refer to this serpent as "Satan", which would seem inaccurate based on other Christian claims regarding "Satan") which, for obvious reason resulted in women being seen as "weak and corruptible" by Christians and snakes, Satanists, lawyers, and anyone else that people try to associate with serpents being seen as evil.

As misunderstood, and even forgotten, as this obscure race may be it is now becoming obvious that Satanists are, in themselves, both a race and a religion. Therefore, a real Satanist can decide not to be a Satanist as easily as an Asian, African, or Ethnic-Jew can decide to cease being what they are.

5. What is the "motivation" for Satanism?

The simplest of motivation in all humanity is the motivation of Satanism, just to live life. Atheists, like religionists, simply don't understand life, or the meaning thereof. Most Atheists, although they do not believe in a concept religionists call "God", they DO follow religionist concepts and morality.

The "Christian-atheists" (as we call them) follow every tenet of the Judeo-Christian system of belief other then the belief in the Judeo-Christian deity (the Jewish "Yaweh" or Christian "Jehovah"), which makes them hypocrites (we are starting to see Muslims in the same situation with their deity, "Allah"). None of these names should be mistaken with the supposed "suns" (read prophets) of these supposed deities: Adam, Jesus, and Muhammad.

The rest of the Atheists in the world are simply Satanists who are too scared to call themselves what they are. Usually because they can't get over the name, again because of their Judeo-Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist influences (the cases that may be made against Judo-Christianity and Islam can easily be placed on Hinduism and Buddhism).

6. What type of Satanism does the Darkside Collective Ministry fall under, and what is the philosophy?

The Darkside Collective Ministry is a Satanic Church that falls under the category of Religious Satanism and the sect of Satanism known as Purist Satanism which is the strict observance and insistence on purity of Satanic religious beliefs, philosophies, and practices dating back to the period known as the Neolithic Era at least 12,000 years ago (10,000 BCE). Since the source philosophies of Purist Satanism are the same, with some differences, as LaVeyan Satanism, the philosophical differences are few and the activities are very similar. Purist Satanism is an anti-theistic based hermetic* philosophy.

7. With your use of the Baphomet symbol and the identical philosophy as the Church of Satan, isn't the Darkside Collective Ministry stealing from the Church of Satan?

On the contrary, the philosophy known as Satanism is far older then LaVeyan Satanism. The Darkside Collective Ministry uses many of the same philosophical sources as LaVeyan Satanism but we have found other sources that are just as valid as any other in serving to strengthen Satanism, and the Darkside Collective Ministry specifically.

The Church of Satan claims to have "created" and "copyrighted" the Baphomet, but with a quick look at the international copyright laws it will be discovered that phrases, words, and symbols cannot be copyrighted. Words, phrases, and symbols can only be "trademarked". A check of the filed ownership for the trademark of the Baphomet turned up an interesting fact. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office the condition of the Church of Satan's claim over the Baphomet states that the words "Church of Satan" must accompany the symbol in order to be a violation of that trademark. Further, the Church of Satan's claim of ownership over the Baphomet itself would, in fact, make it an illegally acquired trademark. Under the law, simply softening lines on a symbol, changing the name, or any other change that does not make it distinctly different from the previous intellectual property as not to mistake it with the original is still in violation of International Patent and Trademark laws.

In "A Pictorial History of Magic and the Supernatural" by Maurice Bessy originally published in French, in 1961 and translated into English in 1964, found on page 198, under the heading “Satanic Sciences”, the caption reads:

“Pentagrams are the result of obscure numerological speculations. The five-pointed star, for example, seems to be characteristic of the Christian era, while the cross is the symbol (amongst others) of the figure five: four arms and the centre. By a strange coincidence, the Holy Spirit, the United States, and the U.S.S.R. and Islam use the five-pointed star as their emblem. (The opposition of good and evil is indicated through the inverted triangles).”

The Baphomet symbol is to the right of this caption. The cover of this hard-bound book, an artist rendered symbol and it was printed in white on the black cloth cover and this book was even admittedly used, by the Church of Satan as a prop for photo-ops in the "early days" (before the Satanic Bible was published, in 1969).

In fact, according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office the symbol itself is not trademarked. In other words, the Church of Satan has no legal claim as long as you do not have the name of their church near the symbol.

It is also interesting to note, It was some time after the Templar slaughters in 1314 that the horned gods used in symbolic worship by the peasants and folk peoples of Europe (or Pagans), became the accepted imagery for the Devil by the Christian Church. In the eyes of the church if the peasants worshipped false gods, then the Pentagram symbol, used by those people asa symbol of security, must therefore be evil as well.

8. Satanists use the pentagram as the main symbol of their religion, right?

The universal symbol of Satanism is known by many different names, the most common of which is the Baphomet. This symbol consists of an inverted pentagram with the head of a goat inside. Without the goat-head inside the star, the inverted pentagram is used by some Satanists (particularly the Temple of Set) as well as young punks attempting to get a rise out of people. The inverted pentagram is also used by Wiccans to symbolize the sacred masculine aspect of nature.

There is another pentagram that is often mistaken as Satanic by modern Christians, called the microcosmic man, the regular pentagram (or pentacle) with the vitruvian man inside. The man's limbs represent the four elements: earth, wind, fire and water with his head representing the spirit. Because of its orientation and the head representing "spirit", this symbol is considered to pre-date the cross as an ancient symbol for Christianity. Although, those who know nothing about Satanism hold this symbol, whether with the vitruvian man or not, to be a Satanic symbol. The microcosmic man, minus the vitruvian man, is also a Wiccan symbol for the sacred feminine aspect of nature.

9. In the policy statement of the Darkside Collective Ministry members are required to pay membership dues of hard productive work, what is meant by hard productive work?
Hard productive work simply means that the individual is successful in everything he does, whether he is at work or doing work for the Darkside Collective Ministry. To be successful individuals most work hard and be willing to put in that extra effort. hard productive work can be related to professionalism and an individuals pride in everything they do. It is the general belief of the Darkside Collective Ministry that people already work hard for their money, therefore we believe it is ridiculous to expect anyone to burn themselves out merely to hand off more of their hard earned money to, socially accepted religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc) as well as the Church of Satan, who pretend to be churches, demanding to be respected as a church, some even sending their members a crimson fan-club card while they condemn those who actually practice what they preach.

10. With all the debate over "same-sex marriages", where does the Darkside Collective Ministry stand?

Science has proven that there is a "gay-gene", rather a cluster of genes in the hypothalamus gland in the human brain which is larger in straight men and lesbians, but is smaller in gay men and straight women. Also, specialists have observed homosexual behavior in wild animals in their natural habitats. This all points to the fact that homosexuality is natural. For this reason, the Darkside Collective neither condemns nor condones the activities of homosexuals or heterosexuals. We do, however, support both in their right to marry as they wish as long as the couple, straight or gay, desire to undertake in a marriage. The Darkside Collective Ministry will also provide a service (for non-members a fee will be imposed) to perform weddings of either orientation given that anyone requesting our services in officiating a wedding are willing to write their own wedding ceremony, which is in accordance to the Satanic wedding ceremonies.
